Dermatologists nor patients could predict COVID-19's impact on rosacea. As
the leading independent dermatology company, Galderma set out to uncover the impact of essential
mask wearing on rosacea. Patient survey findings revealed almost two thirds experienced worsening
symptoms, 1 in 2 used mask wearing to hide their rosacea, and only a third visited a doctor or
dermatologist. During Rosacea Awareness Month, #RosaceaUnmasked, led by specialist
'skinfluencers', united the rosacea community, raising awareness of mask impact. Targeted influencer
identification and influencer-generated content, coupled with relatable social content, successfully
reached >2.6M, with a 25% Instagram following increase, and 8% average engagement rate.
