Stepping up the fight against malaria in times of COVID-19

While at the start of 2020, malaria deaths were at the lowest point ever, the emergence of COVID-19 threatened to reverse decades of hard fought-progress against the disease, with deaths projected to double in 2020. For the RBM Partnership to End Malaria, we developed an integrated communications campaign that maintained vital visibility and profile to help ensure progress made against malaria was not reversed due to COVID-19. Our communication efforts contributed to ensuring 90% of planned malaria campaigns went ahead this year, protecting millions of communities in Africa and beyond from one of the world’s deadliest diseases.
